Tanya Songtachalert, MPH
I am currently a fourth-year doctoral candidate at Boston University studying Counseling Psychology with a specialization in adolescence, adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. First and foremost, I prioritize establishing a therapeutic alliance and work to build autonomy, trust, and understanding with my clients. I offer individual and family counseling to teens and adults, specifically helping people recover from depression, and develop emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills. My approach to therapy draws from a multicultural feminist framework, as well as dialectical behavioral therapy, as both create space to examine one's background and identity, strengths, and emotions in relation to themselves and others in their lives. I value each individual's unique experience of life and aim to create a space where everyone feels supported.
